Opinions on iron cross craps
Jan 22, · I like to play around with iron cross betting now and again when I have spare change. But with the odds being that a 5, 6 0r 8 -- and that while just ignoring a possible 7, I just don't see much future in it other than a way to spice up a day. I usually buy in for about $ but will likely increase it to $ + .
The problem with the iron cross strategy in my humble opinion.

The Lure Of The Iron Cross At Craps
Over the years there has been a lot of talk about a betting system called the Iron Cross. The attraction to this betting system is straight-forward you will get paid whenever any number rolls, except for the seven.
Imagine, when the 4 hits, you get paid - when the 5 hits - you get paid, when the 6, 8, 9, or 10 hits you get paid. Even when craps numbers hit you get paid. You make money on the 2, 3, 11, and If you do the math, you know there are only? The Iron Cross bet consists of place bets on the 5, 6, and 8 and a field bet.
The field bet wins if you throw a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or When the field bet loses, one of the place bets wins giving the player a small profit except of course if a 7 appears. When that happens the player loses all the bets. I can recall many times when I had a pass line bet with odds and placed the 6 and 8 and threw number after number without collecting anything.
The Iron Cross bet will definitely eliminate that situation. The only time you will not win money is when you throw the 7. The question, then, is how good or bad a bet is the Iron Cross. Is winning better than 83 percent of your bets a good deal? Lets assume we are playing a random game. Conventional wisdom states that hedge bets cause you to lose more money.

I have been reading more into craps strategies on this page, wizard of odds little harder to navigate because of the long threads and elsewhere because as I bet more and have a higher amount of money at risk I believe some type of hedging is necessarily to protect some of my bets and I'd like to get opinions from experienced players. Again my objective using these strategies is to make money on the table and at least come out a little ahead.
I'm a probability and odds guy so if it makes sense to me I'm likely to explore it. I understand this is extremely boring technique but I read that the odds of hitting either a 6 or 8 before a 7 are good. Any comments suggestions etc would be appreciated before my trip this Sunday to Vegas to try this out. If believe from a straight probability perspective, you are best off simply playing the pass line and laying maximum odds.
Actually, I think playing don't pass is slightly better odds but its so close that I'm not sure its enough to have the table hate you! No matter what, you are facing an expect loss equal to your bets multipled by the expected loss per bet. You can throw in all the odds bets you want, you are still facing that expected loss. If your goal is to maximize your probably of walking away from the table with a win, the best strategy is some sort of progression increasing bets after losses which will leave you with a good probability of a small win, and a small probably of a big loss.
Personally, I hate all the strategies you outline. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish. If you want to hedge against each other, I'd keep it simple with a pass line bet followed by a don't come bet or vice versa. This post has been removed at the author's request. Merge this question into. Split and merge into it. How is a hockey stick made? A hockey stick is made of 4 layers of fibreglass and sometimes a wooden base. How is a wooden hockey stick made? A piece of wood is split. Then it is sanded. They then take theblade and glue it on and let it dry. After that, they paint it thedesired color. In some cases, the name of a player is put on it. Why are hockey sticks made from wood? Modern hockey sticks are made from several types of materials, including wood..
Wood is the traditional material, and a wood stick is the cheapest one. Made in two parts, the shaft and the blade, and joined together at the point where the shaft meets the blade, with a type of joint that is quite strong. The blade's length is regulated, as is the curvature of it..
Metal shafts and now combined with wood blades, as are composite sticks with blades and shafts. The cost of these is much higher than wood.. Pro hockey players have their sticks made just for them by the stick companies, and when they get a shipment of sticks, they will spend several days, working on each stick to get it to their satisfaction as to the curve and the taping on the blade and the shaft.
They use sanders and grinders to get them "just right" then they are stored in the team's equipment locker. The team's equipment manager is responsible to make sure that each player has "enough sticks" for every game and he puts at least 5 sticks out for each player behind the player's bench where they are instantly available if the player breaks on on the ice.. The metal shaft stick has more bendability than the wood one, so the player can get more "whip" effect when he shoots.
